When Father Christmas needed a shed to sit in while meeting children at Portreath Bakery in Pool, it was the Cornwall Shed Company who came to the rescue. They provided him with a very special wooden building, which they then offered up as a draw prize to help raise funds for Cornish charity, Cornwall Hospice Care.

The ‘Win A Shed’ Draw proved enormously successful with more than 600 tickets sold, raising a magnificent £1,226 for the charity. Backing the fundraiser was Marion Symonds who runs Portreath bakery and who is a big supporter, and charity Ambassador for Cornwall Hospice Care.

Marion was assisted by Angela Flamank from the charity;

“We wanted to match the value of the shed but in the end we raised far more and the winning ticket was drawn at Portreath Bakery on Saturday 23 January. The lucky recipient was Simon Trestrail of Camborne who purchased the ticket in the hope he would win the shed for his Mum. I reckon he’s a very popular son right now! All the proceeds will go towards our work supporting patients with life limiting illnesses, and their families. I’d like to thank everyone who took part for their generosity.”
