Afternoon tea raises over £1,300 for Cornwall Hospice Care The St Austell Fundraising group held a very successful Afternoon Tea at Lanjeth on Friday 1st July, raising an extraordinary sum of money for Cornish charity Cornwall Hospice Care. St Austell Fundraising Group were one of the first volunteer groups in the community, spreading the word about the Cornish charity and raising vital funds for adult hospice care in Cornwall. In true St Austell group style, the ladies held an hugely successful Afternoon Tea at Lanjeth Village Hall on Friday 1st July, raising an incredible £1,340.80 . Margaret Bawden is a long serving member of the group; “The event was well attended by our regular supporters, for which we are very grateful and the hall was donated free of charge by the Chairman of Lanjeth Village Hall Committee”. Angela Flamank is the Fundraising Groups Coordinator for Cornwall Hospice Care; “A huge thank you to St Austell Fundraising Group who are all dedicated volunteers and yet again have produced such an amazing result from all their efforts. As a charity we rely on an army of volunteers. There are over 1000 people supporting us by giving their time to do a wide range of roles in Cornwall, for Cornwall. Thanks to the hard work of those like St Austell Fundraising Group, we can continue to provide our specialist care free of charge to patients and their families”. The groups next event at Lanjeth Village Hall will be their Harvest Supper taking place on Saturday 8th October.
