Bob and Marilyn Bosisto are an extraordinary couple who’re close to raising £50,000 for Cornwall Hospice Care, but they need help.  They collect funds through monthly charity auctions and urgently need some volunteers to assist with the events.

Bob and Marilyn, who live near St Columb, have been involved in charity auctions for many years, but started collecting for Cornwall Hospice Care three years ago when a close friend died of cancer. But with their fundraising goal tantalisingly close, their two trusted friends who have helped them out, are having to retire. Bob explains more;

“David and Sandra Creeper from Crantock have been brilliant and have helped us out for two years now, not once letting us down and I’ll never be able to thank them enough. But they are having to retire from their voluntary roles and we desperately need to replace them as we can’t set up and run the auctions on our own.”

“We hold our monthly auctions in and around Indian Queens and need help on the day of the events to set up the auction items and then to act as porters during the auction itself, passing items to people who have successfully bid for them.  It means a commitment of a few hours once a month. We usually set up for three hours in the morning and then it’s another three hours between 6pm and 9pm. We have a lot of fun and the work is extremely rewarding because the proceeds are going to such a good cause.”

“Marilyn and I do it because we enjoy the auctions and get a real buzz from them. It keeps us active and we appreciate that our hard work is supporting a great Cornish charity that provides special care to patients with life limiting illnesses, and their families.”

“We really do need help so if anyone is interested I’d ask them to contact us on either 01637 880715 or 07803 436469.”
