The new Helston event will take place on Saturday 28th November at 1pm and already nearly 121 people have signed up to race through Helston dressed as Santa, The Heartlands event will take place on Sunday 6th December at 1pm.  But it’s not too late to sign up in support of Ruan and the run as Rose Beattie, Cornwall Hospice Care’s Major Event Fundraiser, explains;

“The event is open to men and women, boys and girls, in fact everyone is welcome to join Team Santa in this festive fundraiser. What’s more you choose whether you run, jog or walk along the route. When you sign up you’ll receive a free Santa Suit and you can join us for a mince pie and hot drink after the fun run to continue the merry making. Spaces are limited, so advanced registration is recommended and it’s just £12 for adults and £7 for children. Ruan looks forward to welcoming you and cheering you along the way!”

“The money raised will help us to continue working 24 hours a day to support patients with life limiting illnesses and their families, something we do in many different ways. Our clinical teams provide very specialist Palliative care in our two hospices at Mount Edgcumbe in St Austell and St Julia’s in Hayle, and also in Cornwall’s general hospitals and nursing facilities and in people’s homes. We also run a 24 hour advice line for other healthcare professionals who need our support. We do this with an extremely limited amount of funding from the NHS so events like this are vital and I’d like to thank everyone who chooses to take part for making a difference to people who need our help.”

The Helston event will start at The Monument in Coinagehall St, Helston, TR13 8ER.

The Heartlands event will take place at Heartlands, Dudnance Lane, Pool, Redruth, TR15 3QY.
