The wonderful work of art was presented to the charity by the Strawmeadow Quilters of Tintagel who started work on the quilt in the spring. Filled with scenes of Cornish life from a cat on a stone wall to a horse rider and a tractor the hanging is always admired and often talked about.

The colourful quilt hangs in the reception area at the hospice bringing a vibrant splash of colour and a perfect Cornish scene to all those who stop to view it.

Lizzie Hotton, Unit Manager/Sister at Mount Edgcumbe, says the quilt is a very welcome addition to the hospice;

“It really is beautiful and very detailed and each time you look at the quilt you see something new. It clearly represents a lot of work by the Strawmeadow Quilters and I thank them very much indeed for presenting it to us. There are so often people looking at it and talking about it. I hope that is reward for the group who worked so hard to provide it for us. As a charity providing specialist care free of charge to our patients and their families, we can’t afford the little extras like wall hangings that can make such a difference and bring people cheer. A gift like this is very special.”
