The fete, which was organised by a small group of residents, included children’s entertainment, bowls, line dancing, bell ringing and tasty catering.  One of those involved in setting up the day was Carol Clogg;

“When we were discussing who should benefit from the fete Jackie Hodges suggested Cornwall Hospice Care because her Mum had been in Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in

St Austell.  We worked really hard and were delighted to make £370. We gave the hospice £100 and shared the rest out amongst other local charities and organisations including the playgroup and the local newsletter.”

“We’ve got more fundraising plans in the pipeline with table top sales, a car boot sale, bingo and a Christmas fete.  So thank you to everyone who supported us and we hope you’ll continue to enjoy attending our events in the future.”

Judy Lawton is the local Community Fundraiser for Cornwall Hospice Care;

“I’d like to thank Carol Clogg, Jackie Hodges and Ruby O’Gara for thinking of us and raising this money, and thank you to all those who went along to the fete. We need to raise a huge amount of money to ensure we provide the best possible specialist care to our patients and their families, so support such as that shown by the people of Quintrell Downs is very important to us.”
