The annual cycle and fun run coincides with the Padstow Christmas Festival and the crowds certainly helped generate a jolly atmosphere. Rowan Blewett was the Event Organiser for Cornwall Hospice Care;

“It’s always a great turn out for these two events and we were delighted to see so many cyclists take on the morning ride from Wadebridge. Some then carried on to take part in the fun run, which was extremely well supported by children and adults of all ages and some very well dressed dogs. The atmosphere was amazing and there was a real buzz afterwards as people dressed as Santas and Elves hung their medals round their necks and munched on mince pies provided this year by the Co-op. Special thanks must go to all our volunteer marshals, Bridge Bike Hire, The Old Ship Hotel, Padstow Christmas Festival, Padstow Church Rooms, Duncan Warren from BBC Radio Cornwall, North Coast Fitness and Lifestar Medical.”

Lizzie Hotton is the Ward Sister at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice;

“I’d like to send a huge thank you to everyone who cycled and ran for us in Wadebridge and Padstow this year. You all make such a difference, helping to fund the care we provide for patients and their families, care that costs £27 an hour for those in-patients who have to stay with us. I think it’s wonderful to see people dressing up and having fun while raising funds for our charity and it reminds people we are here 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round.”
