You are probably sat at home right now wondering what your lockdown 3.0 challenge should be. Well look no further – this is the challenge for you! You can do it during lockdown and you can do it alone, with your family, your exercise buddy or even your four-legged friend. Walk it, run it, jog it or cycle it (or hop it backwards if you so desire!). You can do it around your local park, favourite trail or even your garden.
Walk the virtual distance between our two hospices – Mount Edgcumbe in St Austell to St Julia’s in Hayle – Hospice to Hospice is 37 miles and we are giving you until the end of the Easter break to complete your miles. With the school closures now extended it’s perfect to keep you and the family moving during lockdown!
Entry fees are £10 per adult, £5 per child and you can even enter your dog for £5 too! There’s also a spot of Merch on offer too! Grab yourself a Team CHC Cycling Jersey, Running Vest or Supporter T-shirt to show the world you’re supporting your local Hospice. Purchase here. We’re offering you a gorgeous bespoke medal to commemorate your achievement, but most of all you’ll get that warm and fuzzy feeling of having done something really good for someone else.
All you need to do is sign up, download Strava or a similar tracking device and get going. Why not join our Strava Club and share your stories, photos and achievements and we’ll shout them out on our social media channels.
Run, Jog, Cycle or Walk – it’s up to you how you achieve your distance.
You can do it alone, with your partner, kids and/ or with the dog (they get a medal too!)
Set up a JustGiving page now and share it everywhere to tell all your friends who will instantly want to empty their purses into your fundraiser. If you want to fundraise for a particular Hospice, sign with just giving to Cornwall Hospice Care and then let us know which Hospice; St Julia’s or Mount Edgcumbe, you are supporting.
You have until Sunday 18th April to complete your 37 miles Hospice to Hospice. When the event ends simply send us your tracker history and we’ll send you our lovely medal and a smashing certificate to hang on the wall.
On a more serious note, we’re facing an ongoing crisis like no other while still keeping our two hospices open 24/7. With your help we’re continuing to care for terminally ill people and their loved ones in Cornwall and we need you to ensure we maintain this vital service.
With all our shops closed (again) and our usual fundraising events on hold, we still need you to support us.
£20 funds an hour of our specialist nursing care and we need this now more than ever. If 100 people raised £200 each for us that’s 1000 hours of nursing care.
You could help make that happen – sign up today and invite your friends.
For all participants, sponsorship is optional. However, you are encouraged to raise some sponsorship, no matter how little.
