Beautiful Books of Remembrance

Light up a Life marks the beginning of the festive season at Cornwall Hospice care and is an uplifting and peaceful way in which to remember the lives of loved ones at this special time of year.

Our popular Light up a Life service at Truro Cathedral comprises carols, prayers, readings and music by children from a local school. During the service the lights on the Christmas tree outside will be switched off and during the last carol the tree is relit symbolising the lives of those we are remembering. Those in the cathedral can watch this on a screen during the service. After the service join us for refreshments where the remembrance books will be displayed. The books will remain in the Cathedral and can be viewed at certain times on Wednesdays and Saturdays during December. There will also be card stars available for you to write a personal message and hang on the main Cathedral tree.

Time to remember

Remember your loved ones with a dedication in one of our books. The books of remembrance will be at each celebration service venue and you can choose where you would like their names to appear.  If you are unable to visit your nearest venue, your loved one’s name will be included in our online tribute, available here on our website towards the end of November.

With your support

We can continue to care for adults with terminal illnesses in Cornwall – completely free of charge. For more information please contact the fundraising team on 01726 66868.

As with all our remembrance events Light up a Life is open to everyone, there does not need to have been a connection with our hospices.
