Back again, for 2019, this popular family day out takes place in the grounds of the picturesque Mount Edgcumbe Country House. The event raises vital funds for Cornwall Hospice Care and The Friends of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park.

More About the Event

There is something for everybody during your day out – 150 stalls selling crafts, jewellery, soap, clothes and much, much more, food and drink outlets including a licensed bar, bouncy castles, fairground rides and family friendly entertainment from jazz music to magicians, and of course the popular car show which last year saw over 900 cars take part.

After a break for a year, 2019 will see the return of our very popular car boot show. Space for this will be limited so please do book early if you want to reserve your spot.

The car park is £10 per car but entry to the show is FREE.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my dog to the event?

Yes, well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome at our event. Please do remember to bring water for your dog though as the event takes place in a field in summer.

Can I bring a picnic?

Yes, you can bring a picnic, however there are plenty of food vendors to pick from as well.

Are there any discounts for military/NHS etc families?

No, sadly not, however £10 to park all day with free entry to the show does make this a reasonably priced day out, particularly if you fill the seats in your car.

When will I be sent my car pass?

Stall holders/car booters/car show will receive their car passes in the post approximately 2 weeks before the event, with final instructions. There are no advanced bookings for day visitors.

What does my £10 parking fee cover/why has it gone up from £5 after all these years?

The fee didn’t increase for 12 years, and the decision to increase it was considered at length due to increased running costs in putting this event on.

What’s the provision for disabled parking?

Car parking is in a field, if you require disabled parking please contact the organisers in advance of this event.

Is the event wheelchair friendly?

The event takes place on grass, so please make your own judgement based on this.

What type of cars do you consider classic that can show?

We have no hard definition of classic cars and are open to any reasonable vehicle or enthusiast.

Can my car club bring a gazebo? And if so do I have to book?

Clubs can bring a gazebo if they have a reasonable number of members at the show and they book it in advance. Please email carshow@friends-of-mount-edgcumbe.org.uk to arrange this.

When I am showing my car what time must I arrive by and what is the earliest I can leave?

Cars must arrive by 12.00 noon and earliest departure is 14.00.
