When we launched Tour De Cornwall in 2020, no-one thought we’d still be hosting virtual events a year on!   The success of Tour de Cornwall last year meant we had to bring it back, and while we are seeing a gradual return of some real events there is still an appetite for taking on these challenges in your own time, at your own pace and in your own space!

So if you fancy getting “on you bike” we’re throwing down the gauntlet of 100 miles of cycling, at your pace. So get your bike out of the garage and start pedalling. We’re offering another epic medal, a special certificate on completion and lots of encouragement and laughs when you join our team on the Strava app/website.

This is a challenge that you can do on your own or you can enter as a family.  You can cycle the actual Tour of Britain first stage or round and round the local duck pond, you can even do it on your exercise bike if you want to!  Do it anywhere, anytime.  Give yourself a focus and keep motivated to get out and get moving and of course raise some critical funds to keep our hospice teams there providing the care and support when people need them.

We also have a spot of merchandise on offer too!  Grab yourself a #TeamCHC Cycling Jersey, Running Vest or Supporter T-shirt to show the world you’re supporting your local hospice. CLICK HERE to purchase.

Whilst this is all great fun, it’d be amazing if you could ask friends and family to sponsor you – every penny counts to fund the care we provide at Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle and you will have helped make a huge difference in these tough times.  So please remember to set up a JustGiving fundraising page too.

How do I fundraise?

Set up your JustGiving page and share it – friends and family may be shocked to learn that you are going to cycle 100 miles – but it’s a great opportunity to ask them to support you through sponsorship. If you want to fundraise for a particular hospice, sign with JustGiving to Cornwall Hospice Care and then let us know which hospice – St Julia’s or Mount Edgcumbe – that you want to support.

When you complete your distance just send us your tracker history and we’ll send you the medal and a smashing certificate to hang on the wall.

On a more serious note, all through the Coronavirus pandemic our two hospices remained open 24/7 and do so today because of the amazing help of people like you. With your help we’re continuing to care for terminally ill people in Cornwall and we need you to ensure we maintain this core service.

For all cyclists, sponsorship is optional, but please if you are unable to raise sponsorship could you consider making a donation when you register?  Just £20 funds one of our key worker nurses for an hour and makes a massive difference to us.
