One of the great summer pleasures is to go and visit wonderful gardens. The Cornwall Hospice Care Open Gardens Programme offers you the chance to see some gardens that are not often open to the public and their owners work very hard to prepare them for us, specifically to raise money towards our care.
Historic landscape gardens featuring ponds, streams, cascades, rocks and woodland. Including mature trees, spring bluebells and ornamental walled garden. a stunning natural English landscape. Allow at least 1 hour for the circular walk. The main route is over 1.5 miles in length with some uneven and steep paths, which can be slippery when wet. Stout footwear advised.
Every year it costs over £5 million to provide the specialist care we offer to our in and out patients. Only 20% of this is funded through a contribution from Cornwall’s NHS Commissioners, in simple terms, the NHS contribution pays for 71 days of care each year. In a calendar year that’s only enough to get us to the 12th March. We rely on the generosity of people like you in Cornwall who leave us legacies, support fundraising events, play our lottery and visit our 32 shops.
