One of the great summer pleasures is to go and visit wonderful gardens. The Cornwall Hospice Care Open Gardens Programme offers you the chance to see some gardens that are not often open to the public and their owners work very hard to prepare them for us, specifically to raise money towards our care.
A 20 acre woodland garden created over the last 200 years by the Carlyon family. Rich in exotic plants with formal walled garden and historic greenhouse. On the day, music will be provided throughout the afternoon by St Austell Strummers. PL24 2SJ.
This garden is being opened in conjunction with volunteers from our St Austell Fundraising Group.
Every year it costs over £5 million to provide the specialist care we offer to our in and out patients. Only 20% of this is funded through a contribution from Cornwall’s NHS Commissioners, in simple terms, the NHS contribution pays for 71 days of care each year. In a calendar year that’s only enough to get us to the 12th March. We rely on the generosity of people like you in Cornwall who leave us legacies, support fundraising events, play our lottery and visit our 32 shops.
