We’re very excited to bring you our VIRTUAL IRONMAN TRIATHLON.
Following the success of this event last year and with so many events still unable to go ahead in 2021 we want to offer you the opportunity to earn an epic medal whilst challenging yourself! Imagine how impressed your friends will be when you tell them you’ve completed an IRONMAN!
There is no upper or lower age limit to enter Your Ironman Triathlon but there is an option to complete our JUNIOR TRIATHLON for Under 16s.
ALL AGES IRONMAN
JUNIOR TRIATHLON Halve all distances = Run13.1 Miles, Cycle 50 Miles, Swim 1.2 Miles OR Paddle 6.55 Miles
The starting gun will be at 7a.m on the 1st April and you will have until Midnight on 30th June to complete all three disciplines.
We’re offering an exclusive Ironman Triathlon bespoke handcrafted medal, certificate with your choice of photo on completion and lots of encouragement and laughs in our online Strava Club TeamCHC (make sure you join us).
The idea being to get us all motivated to get out, get moving and of course raising some critical funds for the Hospices.
Entry fees are £25 IRONMAN, £15 JUNIOR and there’s a spot of merch on offer too! Grab yourself a Team CHC Cycling Jersey, Running Vest or Supporter T-shirt to show the world you’re supporting your local Hospice. Purchase here.
To make this inclusive we won’t insist on a swim. You can swim or paddle (SUP/kayak/canoe etc). You will have 3 months to complete the challenges, wherever you can and at your pace. On completion we will award you with the exclusive Team CHC Virtual Ironman Triathlon Medal – this is definitely one to showcase on social media!
Whilst this is all great fun, it would be amazing if you could find a few friends to sponsor you. Every penny counts to fund the care we provide at Mount Edgcumbe and St Julia’s Hospices and you will have helped make a huge difference in these continuing tough times. So please remember to set up a JustGiving page when you register, set yourself an achievable goal (£20 will fund an hour of nursing care, or £100 will fund 5 hours!) and it will feel awesome when you smash it, knowing its going to fund those last treasured moments. If you aren’t able to fundraise at this time, but would like to make a donation you can do this when you register.
All you need to do is sign up, download the free Strava App, join our Team CHC Strava Club where we can track your progress and share your stories, photos and achievements and we’ll shout them out on our media channels.
Yes you can cycle, swim or run anywhere, anytime, it’s up to you how you get your distance.
Set up your JustGiving page and share it with all your friends, family and contacts who will instantly empty their purses into your fundraiser from the sheer shock of learning that you are going to enter an Ironman Triathlon. If you want to fundraise for a particular Hospice, sign with just giving to Cornwall Hospice Care and then let us know which Hospice, St Julia’s or Mount Edgcumbe you are supporting.
We’re giving you until Wednesday 30th June to complete this challenge. When you finish just send us your tracker history and we’ll send you your medal and a smashing certificate personalised with a photo of your choice to hang on the wall.
On a more serious note, we’re still facing a crisis like no other while still keeping our two hospices open 24/7. With your help we’re continuing to care for terminally ill people in Cornwall and we need you to ensure we maintain this core service.
We are, as a charity, totally reliant on the support of people like you.
£20 funds an hour of our specialist nursing care and we need this now more than ever. If 100 people raised £200 each for us that’s 1000 hours of nursing care.
You could help make that happen, sign up today and invite your friends.
We need you now more than ever and every penny counts to fund those last precious moments for a family facing terminal illness.
