Cornwall Hospice Care is a leading Cornish charity providing special care for adults who are living with terminal illness. The care is provided at our two hospices – Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle.

About the role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a fundraiser to join our Community team.

This is an exciting time to join Cornwall Hospice Care. The Fundraising Team is embarking on an ambitious, yet realistic three-year fundraising strategy to develop and grow income. Focusing on sustainable development, this role is viewed as integral to the success of the strategy and will manage Cornwall Hospice Care’s events and community products and team.

The role sits alongside three fellow Community Fundraisers and collectively you raise circa £425k per annum including responsibility for your own events. There is significant opportunity to develop your area for fundraising and secure long lasting relationships with donors, supporters and businesses. Also there is the opportunity to develop your own products and/or events for fundraising.

Based at our Income Generation Offices in St Austell and the Fundraising Office in Hayle, the successful candidate should expect to spend time travelling throughout Cornwall every week.

About you:

You are an effective communicator, able to work collaboratively and independently, possessing the emotive and persuasive skills to convert supporters to Cornwall Hospice Care through face to face meetings, via the telephone or via presentations.

You are a successful fundraiser, able to meet strategic and net income targets.

You are solution focused and results driven, used to a target based environment. You’ll have an analytical approach to assessing fundraising success and able to pitch appropriately the audience you are speaking with.
