Working for Cornwall Hospice Care means you are directly contributing to the high quality care and support we provide for people living with a terminal illness.  It costs over £5 million to provide the specialist care we offer to our in and out patients and we raise the vast majority via the support of people in Cornwall who leave us legacies, support fundraising events, play our lottery and visit our 26 retail stores.

Our Processing and Distribution assistants play a key role in ensuring our retail stores are stocked with great products to sell, which enables us to offer beds in our Hospice for people when they need it.

Working as part of a team you will you will be helping to determine what we sell in our stores and what we can recycle.  The vast majority of your day will involve travelling between our stores, donation centres and residential or commercial addresses to pick-up large donated goods.  You’ll travel our beautiful County, delivering and collecting stock, which may include heavy items of furniture.

When in our donation centres, you’ll work with customers to maximise our Gift Aid income opportunity.  You will also be responsible for the sorting of donated goods and stock.

The primary work base is our Daniels Lane Donation Centre, however you will spend most of your days travelling throughout Cornwall visiting our stores and Donation Centres.  You will have access to a company vehicle, therefore must hold a clean and current Drivers Licence.  In addition to the salary, a car allowance of £1000 per annum is payable to recognise the requirement for you to work from alternative work locations.

This is a full-time permanent position, working a total of 37.5 hours per week.  The working days will be days/hours/as per a Rota and will include regular weekend work.
