It won’t have escaped your notice that we appear to be under siege from the dreaded self-isolation pings. As numbers of Covid cases rise steeply, the messages are affecting everyone and disrupting families, businesses and healthcare providers like us. It’s another reminder of the extremely vulnerable environment in which we are now living and working.
We can do our bit to try and avoid being contacted by remembering HANDS. FACE. SPACE. and the importance of meeting outdoors, which is especially easy in this wonderful weather.
We’re not being killjoys, but we have to think about each other right now as the ‘ping’ rate is huge and that’s not going to change. Remember, if a shop shuts we lose vital income, if a hospice shuts we won’t be there for those patients who really need us, right now.
If you’re pinged by Test and Trace please speak to your Line Manager or our HR team straight away. They’ll work with you to decide what’s best for you and your situation.
In the meantime, we’re awaiting further updates from the government. The situation is complex and we’re urgently seeking clarification so we’ll keep you posted.
We want to thank you for your understanding as we’re sending out a lot of briefings but in our rapidly changing world it’s important as I’m sure you all understand.
Please take care and stay safe and if you have any concerns remember to talk to your Line Manager or our HR team firstname.lastname@example.org
