Help us plan our charity’s future. A briefing from our Executive Team on Thursday 6th January 2022.

A new year has dawned and it’s time to start planning for the next twelve months and beyond and we need your help. To make sure we’re always heading in the right direction, we have a 5-year plan for our charity. It details what our priorities are and how we’re going to achieve them. The current one is in its final year, so we’re now starting to think about the plan that will run from 2023 to 2028.

We need to consider what our ambitions are for the next five years and we need to review our Vision, Mission and Values. That’s where you come in. We want to hear your thoughts now and over the coming months as we put the new plan together.

We’re starting with an employee and volunteer survey that will launch next Monday, the 10th of January. It’ll be totally anonymous and will ask you for your opinions on what you think we should focus on in the future.  There’ll be opportunities to write all your thoughts down and to share your ideas.

We must stress this is an anonymous survey. You’ll only be asked if you work in our hospices, retail area or ‘other’ which will include all other offices and departments that don’t fit under the first two headings.  The information we gather will be used to help us start the process of putting the next 5-year plan together and we’ll be asking if you’d like to be involved further as this is very much a project for everyone to feed in to.

On Monday you’ll be sent an email with a link to take part in the survey and there’ll be paper copies available if you’d rather fill one in.  The survey will be open until the very end of the day on Sunday 30th January. Our colleagues Katie Wightman and Tamsin Thomas will also be available on the phone if you have any questions about the survey and details of how to contact them, or get a paper copy, will be in the email next week.

We’re all a part of Cornwall Hospice Care and we’re all a part of its future so thank you in advance for giving us your thoughts and ideas and watch out for the email on Monday.

Happy New Year,

Paul, Gina, Graham and Verity
