It’s Tier 2 from Boxing Day: a message to our staff and volunteers from our Executive Team on Thursday 24th December 2020
It hasn’t come as a complete surprise that Cornwall is moving into Tier 2 on Boxing Day. So, what does this mean for you and for our charity?
Our hospices will continue to stay open 24/7 providing care to those patients who need us. Thanks to everyone’s efforts we’re able to achieve this and we continue to ensure we protect our front line and those who work on it.
Our shops close at 1pm today (Christmas Eve) and aren’t due to reopen until Monday 4th January 2021. Under Tier 2 they will be able to start trading then, which is good news in terms of generating much needed income.
Click HERE to see a very clear guide to what we can and can’t do in Tier 2 and we hope you’ll find it useful. We’re sorry (not sorry) to be boring and repeat ourselves, but please remember the mantra ‘Hands. Face. Space.’ in your head at all times.
Wash your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds and use hand sanitiser when washing facilities aren’t available. Face coverings are a must unless you’re working in an office on your own or are 2m apart from others in the same room or you’re outside. Keep your distance, staying 2m away from each other wherever possible.
These continue to be tough times and we feel for you all, especially with the change of Tier during the festive period. However, let’s hold on to the brighter news that hopefully come spring the virus’s grip on our lives will start to ease.
We wish you all a peaceful and safe Christmas and thank you for your patience, perseverance and support, we truly appreciate it.
Paul, Graham and Gina.
