Launching today – ‘Our resilience and revival’. A briefing for staff and volunteers from our Executive Team on Monday 6th September 2021.
Today we’re launching ‘Our resilience and revival’, the story of the toughest period in our charity’s 40-year history. A detailed and sometimes moving account, the digital publication reviews the extraordinary issues we faced and the determined way in which you, our staff and volunteer teams, fought back during the 2020/21 financial year.
We don’t need to remind you, but when Covid-19 hit we had to drop all celebrations for our Ruby Anniversary and prepare for the uncharted territory and dark times the pandemic prompted. Covid-19 forced us to close all our shops, stop our fundraising activities and concentrate on keeping our key workers safe and our hospices open 24/7.
‘Our resilience and revival’ looks back at the last financial year revealing what it was like to work on our front line, how we coped financially and what we did in terms of developing new digital based projects and fundraising activities.
Given our income generation was severely hampered and the current work now going on to develop our recovery, we’re saving money by sharing a digital version of ‘Our resilience and revival’ rather than printing copies and sending them out by post.
You can read ‘Our resilience and revival’ on our website HERE and I would urge you to share this link with friends and family and anyone else you can think of. We’re busy sending the link to our supporters and are today posting it on all our social media channels. We’re also sharing it with our local media friends.
We hope you enjoy the read, you were after all part of this unexpected story and are now a key part of our revival. Thank you.
