Take however much you’d normally end up spending on your regular haircut and donate it to Cornwall Hospice Care. Whether that’s a cheap trim, a student cut, a blow dry or a full-on colouring – spend it on care, not hair!
Of course, we don’t want to be taking any money away from the amazing local businesses who are sadly losing trade because of the isolation measures in place – we know we’re certainly missing a natter with our regular hairdressers! Please just give whatever you can. Why not donate enough for a trim and put the extra pennies aside to go all out when you finally sit back in your regular barbers’ chair, or just make your donations on a month-by-month basis?
Or you could get your friends and family behind your new style and get sponsored – the bolder (or balder!) the better; we’re not talking about just snipping that weird bit at the back that goes curly, or thinning the top to stay cool in the summer sun – we want you to be adventurous, brave and daring! That means trying something completely new, regardless of whether that’s going shorter than ever before or letting your natural wildness finally grow through. Inject some brightness into the world with a totally new look – when else will you get an opportunity like this?!
Anything you can give will help fund the nurses, doctors, chefs and housekeepers who are continuing to keep our two Cornish hospices open 24/7.
Either way, we’d love to see the results! Be sure to use the hashtag #SpendOnCareNotHair, tag the friends whose stylist skills you’d like to see next, and share any posts that impress you with their crimping proficiency! Fringes, mohawks or the classic bob – we want to see them all and spread the message that we’re still caring for families facing terminal illnesses in Cornwall.
Do your bit; stay at home and please give what you can to those with terminal illness at this testing time. Your donations will mean we can continue to provide 24 hour support for those in need.
Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the masterpieces (and one or two disasterpieces!) this campaign is sure to produce, as well as your chance to donate.
Thank you from our team of key workers who with your incredible support, are still caring for our patients and their families.
