Until I retired recently I was a GP in Truro for over thirty years, in which time I came to the conclusion that end of life care is the touchstone of a good health care system.  That view was strengthened by the experience of looking after my wife at home when she died from breast cancer.  I joined the Board of Trustees at the beginning of 2016 and was immediately impressed by the expertise on hand and by the commitment to the service.  I hope to make a contribution as part of the clinical services committee and I am particularly interested in the roles of education and training and the opportunities we have to facilitate further improvements in end of life care across the county.
