Cornwall Hospice Care volunteers help raise funds out in the community in a myriad of different ways. Whether marshalling at a fundraising event or selling lottery tickets at a wedding fayre, volunteering in these teams is fun, varied and in many cases, can be flexible to suit the individual.

Current opportunities

Fundraising Office Assistant

Lottery campaigns, special events and mailshots are an important part of our fundraising effort and we need help to make them all run smoothly. If you have office experience and are computer literate you could join the team at Holmbush, St Austell, helping with a range of tasks including marking up lottery leaflets for campaigns, preparing mailshots, collating information packs and compiling press cuttings.

Collection Tin Volunteer

Donations in collection tins are an important part of our fundraising effort. Could you manage the tins in your area? The role entails placing tins at local sites and collecting them on a regular basis, in hours that suit you. You would identify possible sites, such as shops and pubs, maintain friendly relations with the businesses over placement of the tins, check them regularly and take full tins to the nearest hospice shop.

Leaflet Distributor

We need to keep our local communities aware of our fundraising efforts - and distribution of lottery and events leaflets is an important part of this. The role of the leaflet distributor is to deliver material to homes in their area and also to work within the lottery canvasser’s area to keep people informed about the ways they can help Cornwall Hospice Care. The hours are flexible.

Events Volunteer

Sponsored walks, fun runs and seasonal fairs are just some of the events that help us raise funds. Often taking place in the evenings or at weekends, they rely on volunteers who support those taking part in a variety of ways –registration; marshalling; manning a stall; selling or serving refreshments; bucket collections and helping with car parking.

Ticket Seller

To make our Lottery a success we need to sell as many tickets as possible. Ticket sellers engage with the public at fundraising events, such as wedding fayres, and ask them to support the Lottery by buying tickets. If you are happy taking money and giving change, or taking people’s names and addresses, this is just the ticket for you.
