Mount Edgcumbe was the first hospice to be purpose built in the county of Cornwall and was opened in 1980.
St Julia's Hospice
After determined fundraising St Julia's Hospice opened in 1999. Before that the hospice beds were in the neighbouring hospital.
``Our vision is for all people living with terminal illness in Cornwall to be able to access the care and support they may need at the time and in the place that is right for them and their families.``
Cornwall Hospice Care
Both hospices are now part of Cornish charity Cornwall Hospice Care that was formed in 2006.
