Heligan is one of the most mysterious estates in England. Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of World War One, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic.
If you’d like to download a garden map in advance, you can find that here.
Approximately 13 acres of this can be accessed via even paths including; Productive Gardens, Pleasure Grounds and Home Farm as well as access to the Steward’s House. The Gardens lie on a gentle downhill gradient, so please remember this when you want to make your way back to the exit. The Jungle and Wider Estate are unfortunately not easily accessible to everyone. Heligan has ample toilet facilities on arrival and at the Steward’s House, including accessible toilets.

“We all had a lovely afternoon on Sunday,I found it very emotional, but it was lovely to be a part of, to remember our lost loved ones and support such an amazing charity in such tranquil surroundings.”
“Both my friend Sue & I felt that the event was very well organised allowing time for people to reflect, remember & scatter petals in memory of lost loved ones. The gentle guitar music set the scene & was most appropriate.”
